ESU 5 Not
To Continue
As Cisco Regional Academy

Print Version

Educational Service Unit No 5 has decided not to renew our agreement with Cisco Systems to continue as a Regional for the Local Cisco Academies.

The K-Nection grant has helped provide an opportunity for school districts throughout Southeast Nebraska and Northeast Kansas to establish a nationally recognized technology program. We have appreciated your support for the program and, more importantly, the relationship that we have had with you as part of the training and course implementation process.

Our decision to not continue as the Regional Academy will not leave you without a connection to the Cisco programs and support. Attached to this memo is a listing of other Regionals of which your local Academy can become a member.

Iowa Academies
Kansas Academies
Missouri Academies
Nebraska Academies

The Regionals shaded in light green are those with which our CATC Program Coordinator Jim Bergquist has had limited contact, but doesn’t mean that you should exclude them, if that is the site that you want as your Regional.

We recommend that you call the Regional of your choice and interview the contact person to determine fees and level of support that they provide. If you would feel more comfortable having Jim Bergquist make that first contact on your behalf, he can be reached at Lakes Country Service Cooperative (218-739-3273).

It is important that you start this process immediately so that your program doesn’t experience any down time due to this change-over process. Whatever you do, we would also recommend that you don’t officially make the actual switch until sometime during the summer.

Once you have made a decision, Don and I will assist you in moving your Academy information from ESU 5 to the selected Regional.

If you need additional assistance during this process, please call or email SNDLC. We have appreciated your support and dedication in making the Cisco Academy programs a success in your school, and wish you continued success in the future.
