POSTING STUDENT ASSIGNMENTS
ON THE INTERNET

If you are teaching to several remote sites, making sure that all students have access to current assignments can be a challenge - especially in the spring, when students are often gone for school-related activities. Posting daily assignments on the internet can relieve a lot of teacher stress!

Schoolnotes.com provides a website where teachers can post announcements and class assignments -- free of charge. Students can also e-mail you from the Schoolnotes site, but your e-mail address does not show, and is not revealed to the student. You can also post digital flashcards for your students at the Schoolnotes.

Find other resources for free or cheap class pages at the Tech-Connected Teacher.

STUDENT POSTER PROJECTS THAT WORK VIA
DISTANCE LEARNING

If you've ever assigned a poster project for students at a remote site, you know that transporting the finished projects can be difficult. Here are two options that can make such projects much easier, logistically:

  • Index-card-sized posters make great "posters" in the DL classroom. They are easily displayed on the document camera, and are easy to scan and put on your class web page. Click here for some student samples.
  • Have your students turn their posters into web projects! The Project Poster was created so that students can create quick and easy web pages. It's free and easy to use. Students can place a report title, text, pictures and links to websites by simply filling in a form and clicking on a button!
